Faegre Drinker is actively recruiting a patent associate to join our Intellectual Property practice. This position offers the opportunity to focus on patent prosecution from our Chicago, Denver, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Philadelphia, Washington D.C. or Wilmington offices. 

Ideal candidates will have one to three years of patent prosecution experience and the indicated chemical engineering or materials science background. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience with technologies such as filtration, material science, polymer science and medical devices, and should have experience with both chemical and mechanical preparation and prosecution. Patent searching and analysis skills a plus. Bar admission is required. We are seeking an associate who is collaborative and motivated to succeed in a client-focused, team-oriented environment. Candidates must also have excellent academic credentials and have strong written and oral communications skills. This is a hybrid position, which generally calls for two - three days in the office.

The anticipated initial annual salary range for someone who is hired into this position in the Minneapolis office is $200,000 – $225,000. Compensation for this position in other offices will vary; the anticipated compensation for other locations is available here.

Actual initial salary may be above or below the above-identified range and will be based on the relevant skills, training, experience, and other job-related factors, including the location of where the position is filled and consistent with applicable law.  The initial salary range listed above is just one component of Faegre Drinker's total compensation and benefits package for attorneys, which includes, but is not limited to, productivity and discretionary bonuses; life, health, accident and disability insurance; and a 401(k) plan.
