Nichols Kaster, PLLP, an employee, consumer, and civil rights law firm, seeks a Case Development Clerk for its Financial Services Litigation team in its Minneapolis office.

This role is an integral part of our Financial Services Litigation team (consisting of attorneys and other support staff), representing workers in class and collective action lawsuits across the country. In addition to supporting the work of attorneys and other staff in ongoing litigation, this position will also be heavily involved in the investigation and development of potential cases, including working with publicly available information and proprietary databases to model possible cases and their worth.
Responsibilities:
- Acting as the first point of contact with the firm’s clients and potential clients.
- Investigating the management of 401(k), pension, employee stock ownership and health plans for potential violations of ERISA and other laws.
- Assisting attorneys and staff with case origination projects by analyzing Department of Labor data, reviewing investment products, monitoring trends in the finance and insurance industry, and interviewing potential clients.
- Presenting investigation and research findings to attorneys through written and verbal communications.
- Collaborating with our Digital Marketing company to set up social media ads and posting investigation and case webpages.
- Assisting attorneys and staff with projects related to cases in active litigation such as reviewing documents and gathering financial or investment data.
- Participating in regular team meetings regarding case strategy and execution.
- Creating damages models to calculate the financial impact of alleged mismanagement to retirement plan participants.
- Providing administrative support by scheduling meetings, mailing advertisement letters, and drafting documents.
Required Qualifications
- Associates degree or pursuing associates degree.
- Applicants should be self-motivated, detail oriented, and have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
- Degree, coursework, or subject matter knowledge in finance, economics, actuarial sciences, statistics, data analytics, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience working in finance, employee benefits, or retirement plan consulting.
- Customer service and phone experience.
- Fluency in spoken and proper written Spanish.

$23 - $30 per hour (depending on qualifications)
