Academic Health Sciences Counsel

The University of Minnesota’s Office of the General Counsel is seeking a full-time Academic Health Sciences Counsel (AHS Counsel) to provide sophisticated legal support to the University’s health sciences schools and colleges which exist in a complex and highly regulated environment involving research, teaching, and the provision of clinical services.

Required Qualifications:

J.D. from an ABA accredited law school

At least 12 years of healthcare law experience in an academic medical center, hospital, or health system or in a firm performing legal services for hospitals, health systems, academic medical centers, or physician practices.

Admission to and good standing in the State Bar of Minnesota, or eligible for prompt admission.

Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare regulatory issues and the healthcare environment.
